WMTID

Back in the early 1990's (just looked it up... 1992), I managed to find my way onto a track by electronic marauders WMTID. The track "Athletes Of God" appeared on their Pale Saint album.

I have known Richard Rouska since the days of cassette and fanzine culture. We have exchanged messages over the years ... suddenly in my inbox I received this and felt compelled to share it...

SHALAMAR, THE MARCH VIOLETS, THE ASSOCIATES, DONNA SUMMER, NEW ORDER, THE HUMAN LEAGUE & GIORGIO MORODER should consider suing WMTID for this shameless slice of Goth Disco! Yes, GOTH DISCO! You heard it here first - earworm music for the dead generation.

From Leeds to Dundee and back out into the free world, ‘ZOMBIE GIRL’ is the hit that never was or ever will be. Tik Tok Tik Tok the clock stopped ticking in 1989 but with fresh ever ready’s in situ Well Martin This Is Different (aka WMTID) are back (those that survived or have a vested interest at least).

A new album (the third and first in over 30 years) is imminent: ‘Fuck Fear’, 10 new tracks for an old n’dying world that had promised so much and daily reinvents ways of imploding.

‘Zombie Girl’ is the first single from the album and for those who covet something lyrically bleak snared to an infectious, plague-like disco post-punk beat this is for you. It’s FREE to download. It’s only available on Bandcamp. A second single, ‘The Prince Is Dead’, will follow harshly in its bloody tracks.

‘Zombie Girl’ was written, recorded and produced by RICHARD ROUSKA (his trail is long, eyes half closed and hair line receding) with additional vocals by ALICE.

Back in the eighties Richard Rouska helped uncover and further the talents of The Cassandra Complex, Son Of Sam, Dustdevils, The Wedding Present, Shop Assistants, Little Brother, Party Day and so many more.

The legendary Tony Bonner lent his mastering skills.

These pages represent my best attempt at a musical journal, travelogue, archive record of my musical landscape and everything I have been involved in over the years. It features celebrated projects to undeveloped ideas, sketchpad moments, memories and general stuff that has been part of my creative endeavours and the Falling A Records story. I am attempting to place things in chronological order though as time passes and I trawl the crates in my loft, I am discovering that my record keeping has been quite vague at times. Please feel free to interact and correct where necessary. The page also serves as the archive page for the website and is where we post our various announcements etc.,
It's very much a work in progress.
