First attempt at library music

The screenshot above is from the original Dynamite Vision website in May 2004. Following a hiatus of more than decade we attempted to reignite some of our old catalogue and create some new material under the banner of Dynamite Vision. We had the vision of being a one stop licensing shop. We had rediscovered the world of KPM and library music. I had bought a load of oold and rare KPM albums on eBay in the preceding years and both myself and Peter found ourselves in the right time and space to be making music again. We felt that becoming rock stars was neither desirable or likely at our age and wondered if we might be able to create library music for the internet generation and at the same time offer some of our obscure but often treasured back catallogue. It was a good idea, but we did not have the wherewithal or resources to deliver at the time. We did however, make a noble attempt.
  • Falling A main catalogue was intended to be a new series of releases, a combination of brand new projects and archive recordings that we felt had been under presented in their original formats or not previously released.
  • Falling A back catalogue was intended to be a series of CD-r reissues of cassette culture releases which were still sought after
  • Falling A sampler series was intended to be sampler CD's that were packaged and sonically delivered in the spirit of the great Vertigo, Harvest and Atlantic samplers of the late 60's and early 70's.
  • Dynamite Vision series was to generate stock music for licensing.

We managed to get the ball rolling and for a while gathered some good momentum but as usual found ourselves spinning too many plates

April 2004, saw the return of the Falling A label with four scheduled releases under the wing of the newly formed Dynamite Vision. These images are all from the now defunct Dynamite Vision website.

The Oxide Revolution article was written by Allen Densen who at that time was hosting an archive site about the cassette releases of Paul Kelday, one of many artists distributed by Falling A in the early 1980's.

These pages represent my best attempt at a musical journal, travelogue, archive record of my musical landscape and everything I have been involved in over the years. It features celebrated projects to undeveloped ideas, sketchpad moments, memories and general stuff that has been part of my creative endeavours and the Falling A Records story. I am attempting to place things in chronological order though as time passes and I trawl the crates in my loft, I am discovering that my record keeping has been quite vague at times. Please feel free to interact and correct where necessary. The page also serves as the archive page for the website and is where we post our various announcements etc.,
It's very much a work in progress.
