Peter Ashby is a British composer and musician. He started in the late 70`s with the bedroom punk band Frenzid Melon! A brief spell in the group Blank Screens followed. He then played bass guitar and composed with the 4AD band Spasmodic Caress in the early 80`s, and after that went on to form the pioneering cassette culture band the insane picnic as a multi instrumentalist/composer with Barry Lamb and Owen Turley! Following the demise of the insane picnic he partnered once again with Barry Lamb to deliver an album of mellotron & Hammond B4 saturated progressive rock under the name of Ermin Grud.
Peter has also been a prolifuc solo artist and collaborator including working with Jasun Martz, Keith Levene, Tor Cesay, Italian minimalist composer Fabio Pigato of Art Disappears Completely and French artist/composer/singer Hilda Garman.
These days he works primarily as one of the Two heads that make up the Two Headed Emperor whilst still chipping away at his own solo projects.
