the insane picnic's critically acclaimed debut e.p. from 1982 "Four days in April" got a bit of a mention in a Record Collector article about cassette culture.
At the time we received such excellent reviews for this from all three of the main music papers. Ian Pye of Melody Maker gave it such a brilliant review that it opened some doors for us. NME and Sounds were a little cooler but even Sounds remarked that it was a "Strangely appealing nihilistic din".
The opening bass notes of "Chaos Control" could be one of those iconic moments in the history of cassette culture.
