Greetings from the Two Headed Emperor. This is a note of appeciation for all those who have supported and promoted us through the medium of the wireless. We are grateful for every bit of airplay and every word of encouragement that you have shared about this labour of love over the last several years and that's why we do these exclusive radio sessions.
You probably know something about the way we work and develop each of our official release as an intended cohesive body of work in it's own right. Ideas and concepts are carefully planned, instrumentation is intentionally though through, the sound pallette of each release has it's own identity and yet comfortably sits within the Two Headed Emperor canon. Working this way helps us to the perimeter of self imposed boundary limits which to some extent pushes us beyond our comfort zones and ignites further journey's into new terrain. As I write we are working on six different LP length projects at various stages of development, each with it's own unique identity and place within the Two Headed Emperor oeuvre. If interested, this interview with powerplay magazine offers some insight on what we do, why we do it and how we do it: https://www.barrylamb.com/uploads/9/6/0/9/9609025/two_headed_emperor_interview_powerplay.pdf
One of the reasons we enjoy doing the radio sessions is that it helps us explore and develop new ideas. It's a kind of sketchpad and seedbed for the future and sometimes it's just an opportunity to have some fun. In our almost 50 years of working on music together, we have inhabited different musical genres, been present in different kinds of bands and collaborated with some really interesting musicians including a few legends. That said, we have never been in a covers band and have rarely ventured into the world of covers. These are our fourth and fifth cover versions under the name of Two Headed Emperor (if you count the latest Wavis O'Shave release for which we provided the backing. It will be out by the time this reaches the airwaves).
So here's a couple of Cliff songs and a kind of cliffhanger tune as we venture into new territory.
Once more, many thanks for the wonderful work that you do across the airwaves. We really appreciate it. There will be a video for "Dynamite" sometime in mid Feb ... so watch out for that.
