Pete and I were just starting out as art rock, punk rock wannabees at that time and during the late 70's and early 80's we covered "Get It On" on a couple of occasions.
Earlier this year we recorded "The Lilac Hand Of Menthol Dan" as part of a Radio Session. It's a lesser known Marc Bolan track that had its origins in John's Children but later appeared on an obscure posthumous EP.
We gave it some punk rock treatment, with a similar approach to the way we attacked music as Frenzid Melon back in the halcyon days of new wave in the late 70’s.
Two Headed Emperor music is generally quite complex and nuanced with several layers of textures, timbres and quirkiness, so we had a lot of fun just kicking back and going back to our rather chaotic musical roots.
I felt it fitting to upload the video in honour of Marc Bolan's musical legacy which I have grown to appreciate more over the years than I did at the time.
By the way, there's a new Two Headed Emperor EP on the way. It should be out around early to mid November.
