Left to right in the pic (see slideshow) Simon Davison (keyboards), Ian Morton-Jones (bass), Jon Horrocks (drums), Tony Beech (guitar), Stan Matthews (lead vocals).
Unfortunately can't see him clearly. Jon was an important part of the local music scene during the late 70's and early 80's and promised to be much more but sadly left us very early.
Myself and Pete recorded a number of sessions with him during the same period. The centrepiece being "I don't wanna work in the wimpy bar" as part of a cassette which had the working title "The great roll and butter swindle".
We had all resigned from our part time jobs at the Wimpy within the same 24 hour period without giving notice. I remember being the last of the trio bearing the brunt of George's (the owner) frustration: "You have really f****** inconvenienced me you b******s"... to which I replied "I know".
The ensuing album was never properly completed with Pete heading off into Spasmodic Caress, myself and Jon with the aid of one or two others worked on a few tracks and it eventually appeared as a rather garbled compilation with various incarnations taking on pseudonyms such as Cosmic Peanut, Folder Bolder and a load more that are completely forgettable.
I must dig around in my attic and see if I can find a copy.
