The picture above is of myself, Alan Davies and William Hayter in our Zoom meeting earlier today. Not so unusual to be having Zoom meetings in these days but what was this particular meeting all about?

Those of you that receive my email bulletin will know that myself and Peter were invited to record a track for a tribute album to the excellent "Miniatures" album which was  conceived and curated by Morgan Fisher in 1980.

The album was an important landmark on my own musical journey and since being involved in the project I have come discover how much affection and respect for the album is out there.

We submiited our track which was followed by a subsequent conversation with the instigator behind the project Alan Davies (top right in the above picture). Ten minutes into the conversation I was pulled in to head up the curation and project manage the early stages of getting it together.

Within 24 hours I pulled in my friend William Hayter (bottom of the above pic) who has good connections  in circles that I don't have many connection. Myself and William have recorded together with Greta Aurora (Amy Balog) and both have an interest in the more experimental end of the progressive rock spectrum. Between ourselves and Alan we have managed to pull together 50+ artists of a very high calibre, including some that were on the original album and the 2000 sequel.

I had a couple of consultations with Morgan Fisher himself and took on board plenty of his wisdom and I think we have a very exciting project in development.

I am not going to spill the beans and announce any artists yet but I am very pleased with the eclectic and diverse collection of cult figures, celebrated underground legends and some hidden gems in the world of modern music. We have received about 70% of the submissions for the album now and I have to say that it is definitely going to capture the spirit of the original.

If you want to check out the original album, it is on YouTube in it's entirety via this link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mOTpzLvFpdc

Here's some details of the original release http://www.morgan-fisher.com/discogpages_e/miniatures.html

and finally, well worth checking out is Morgan Fisher's blog about the album(s) which can be reached here: http://www.morgan-fisher.com/miniatures/about/

These pages represent my best attempt at a musical journal, travelogue, archive record of my musical landscape and everything I have been involved in over the years. It features celebrated projects to undeveloped ideas, sketchpad moments, memories and general stuff that has been part of my creative endeavours and the Falling A Records story. I am attempting to place things in chronological order though as time passes and I trawl the crates in my loft, I am discovering that my record keeping has been quite vague at times. Please feel free to interact and correct where necessary. The page also serves as the archive page for the website and is where we post our various announcements etc.,
It's very much a work in progress.
