Frenzid Melon were pioneers of the cassette culture movement in the late 70's and early 80's. They were anchored by Barry Lamb and Peter Ashby but had a flexible line up.
They were one of many lo fi bands releasing diy cassettes during that era through an organic global network of musicians and music fans who sold and traded these releases through the post using media such as fanzines, pirate radio and the mainstream music press to profile their work.
Barry Lamb & Peter Ashby were also founders of the Falling A label and have worked on many music projects together over the last 35+ years
