I have known and worked with Tim since the early 1980's. There was a period in the 90's when we were not in touch, then sometime around the turn of the century the Rabbits Hat was thrust onto my radar and I was blown away by what I heard. The quality of the songs, the production, the insightful lyrics and the vocal combination of Tim & Terri was without doubt one of those incredible vocal partnerships. To my mind it was up there with the best rock male / female vocal combinations. I couldn't believe that they had not been recognised by the rock mainstream but I think a large part of that was Tim & Terri themselves being content with being part of the burgeoning British underground scene at the time.
I was very happy to hear their partnership continue into Census Of Hallucinations can also be heard on some of their respective solo recordings as well as other collaborations such as Body Full Of Stars.
This album captures an incredible set of songs, some will be familiar to fans of the Stone Premonitions catalogue and some less so. The production is sharp as a tack and the collection ranges from atmospheric, to edgy but catchy rock with a real groove to it, and the splashes of psychedelic quirkiness that you come to expect from their work. This is a refreshing listen, well worth your attention.
