All compositions and instruments played by Phil Jackson except ‘Song of the Reaper’ (Robert Schumann) and ‘Fat Cat’, music by Jackson, words by Richard Gorman. Also, ‘Bury My Heart’, written and played by Tim Jones/ Paddi/ Jackson with bass by Mark Dunn and guitar by Kevin Hodge.
Dedicated to Rick Ray, Tim Jones, John and Maxine Simms, Paul Foley (sadly missed), and to Barry Lamb and Klemen Breznikar for showing an interest in my music. A special thanks to James Jones for his cover art and to Tim Jones for his engine-earing.
It might not be the most optimistic of subjects, but I do believe that the moral collapse of our world and the growing influence of unfettered technology do not offer up great hope for the future. Topics covered include the clock ticking on planet Earth, monetarism and materialism, delusional dreams of tourist space travel, a personal experience, similar to that depicted in Arthur C. Clarke’s short story of the same name, Vietnam and the futility of wars in general, and racism and imperialism as inflicted on the native American Indians that is also seen in other contexts around the world to this day.
Comments and reviews are welcome. Phil can be contacted at [email protected] and through www.dimensions-in-sound-and-space.com
