Finally, the much anticipated Miniatures 2020 is in the building. The initial response to the album has been more than amazing and we will be ramping up the blog in the coming weeks and months as the story of the album unfolds. It is a beautiful piece of work visually and sonically. Really proud of everyone involved in this fantastic 40th anniversary celebration of Morgan Fisher's brilliant original album.
Outstanding job from all the contributors. Special shout out to Michael Leigh ...the artwork looks fantastic throughout the packaging and booklet. So many positive reviews coming in. An outstanding work. It sounds and looks amazing. The booklet is an engaging read. All in all a wonderful celebration of Morgan Fisher's original "Miniatures" and it's millennial sequel. Also special mentions to Alan Davies for instigating the project and bringing it to the table, William Hayter for his brilliant sequencing and doing the donkey work with the tech and sound engineering, Chris Cutler for making it a reality & of course Morgan Fisher for inspiring us all in the first place. Thanks so much everyone. Reviews I have had loads of positive feedback from those who purchased presale copies and the initial reviews are fantastic including a great review from WIRE magazine. There's a full transcript of the review here If you can help us get reviews or airplay that would be amazing. The EPK is available, just drop me a line for the link. The EPK contains streaming audio, press release, artwork and booklet downloads. I can supply WAV or MP3 files on request or a hard copy. Digital Release We are holding off the digital release for now. I will send out a survey about that quite soon in a separate bulletin and we will work out how to proceed with that in a month or two. Blog I will begin to ramp up the blog in the coming weeks and will run that over the next 12 months or so. The aim is to write a short article about each artists contribution in a similar vein to Morgan's Blog. Beware the ides ... or perhaps the ideas of March! More to come... ArchiveThese pages represent my best attempt at a musical journal, travelogue, archive record of my musical landscape and everything I have been involved in over the years. It features celebrated projects to undeveloped ideas, sketchpad moments, memories and general stuff that has been part of my creative endeavours and the Falling A Records story. I am attempting to place things in chronological order though as time passes and I trawl the crates in my loft, I am discovering that my record keeping has been quite vague at times. Please feel free to interact and correct where necessary. The page also serves as the archive page for the website and is where we post our various announcements etc., Archives
